*****It was a combination day—sunny in the morning and a little rain in the afternoon. I am very thankful for the rain, because it means the spring flowers won’t be far behind. Hope you have a Fantabulous day!! Marion

Hi Again Marion,
When I first found Ray's site I was going threw his song pages. I found his song " Something Stupid" I haven't heard that song for many years. I was trilled to pieces. My husband and I where together for 26 years. He came home from work one day and told me he had heard " OUR SONG" I ask him what was the name of the song he got a big grin and told me it was "Something Stupid" we where driving two day's later all of a sudden he turned the radio up as loud as it would go he kept telling me this was it, this was it our song as they played "Something Stupid" from then on that was our song and he told all of our friends that was our song. So I love that Ray of your's.

When Jim and I got together we had two's song's that we both loved one was " Only You" I ask Ray if he could record it and bless his heart he did and he did a beautiful beautiful job. The other song was "P.S. I Love You" . I'm waiting on that one. : )"Smiling" Then I go into your site and like I told you in the email I sent you last night about reading "Do Not Stand On My Grave And Weep." WOW You two are awesome. Thank You both for all the time you spend making your site's so very special for all of us to enjoy.

Hugs & Smiles
Just-Me Dolly

*****Thank you Dolly, we both enjoy our hobbies and are happy to be able to share with others and are so pleased when our efforts can make someone smile or remember happy memories. Have a great day. Marion

 Hi Marion,

I read the Poem Do Not Stand On My Grave And Weep. About 5 an 1/2 years ago my boyfriend his name was Jim and I fell in love. He was a very loving and awesome man. About four and a half years after we got together we discovered he had cancer. He was in and out of the VA Hospital. While he was in the hospital he found out they had computers for the patient's to use. Of course we emailed back and fourth between him coming home and going back to the VA hospital. Jim knew I loved card so I would received 2 beautiful cards a day telling me good morning in the morning and then telling me good night at night from him .

6 months after Jim had passed away I was at my computer and an email come on telling me that Jim had found this site and he wanted to look at it now remember this was 6 month after Jim died. He had sent me the most beautiful poem 6 months in advance. The poem was Do Not Stand On My Grave And Weep. He had also had a very adorable message for me with this poem. So when I say your poem I had to tell you how much that poem meant to me. Thank You So Much. Have a great evening. Hugs & Smiles coming your way.

Just-Me Dolly

*****Hi Dolly, Thank you for sharing that story with me. I think Jim must have been a very special man to send you that poem. He must have known that you would need that to cheer you up once he was gone. And to make you realize he is still very much with you in your thoughts and memories. Take care and God Bless. Marion

 Hi Marion,

I have just read all of your humour pages.  I had to make 3 trips to the bathroom. I have laughed so hard I have had tears running down my cheeks. I came to the conclusion that we have to be related. OH Dear lord so many things that you have written
I have gone threw the same things. It is like I am reading my life's story. Very, Hysterical. Thank You for the memories.
Have a super great evening.
Sincerely
Just-Me Dolly

*****Hi Again Dolly,  There is nothing in the world that makes me happier than to know my writing made someone laugh.  And I especially like it when people can relate to my experiences.   It  makes me feel like I am not the only goofy person in the world, but that I am just human like every one else.  Thank you for making my day.  Marion

HI MARION, I'VE NOT WROTE IN HERE FOR QUITE AWHILE. I HAVEN'T EVEN WROTE IN POOR RAY'S! I'VE COME IN AND READ YOURS AND ALSO ALWAYS LISTEN TO RAY'S. WHAT I MISS ROSE ALWAYS SENDS ON TO ME. SO MANY WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL THINGS HAVE HAPPEN IN OUR LIVES. YOU AND RAY GOT MARRIED. JIM AND I HAD OUR 40TH ANNIVERSARY. MOST OF ALL I MET THE MOST WONDERFUL PERSON IN THE WORLD. MY FRIEND AND SISTER IN HEART "ROSE". I MET YOU THROUGH RAY AND I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR THAT. MY SON JEFF'S LIFE IS ON TRACK. IT WAS 4 YRS. APRIL 7TH WE LOST JUSTIN AND I MISS HIM AS MUCH AS I DID THEY DAY HE LEFT US, BUT OUR LIVES HAVE GONE ON AND WE KNOW HE IS AT PEACE. THAT IS A TOTAL COMFORT TO ME. YET I OFTEN GO BACK TO THE POEM I WROTE FOR HIM, BECAUSE IT WAS AS REAL TO ME THEN AS IT IS NOW. NO I DON'T DWELL ON IT AS I DID, I BELIEVE ACCEPTANCE OF LOVING SOMEONE AND KNOWING YOU MIGHT NEVER SEE THEM AGAIN IS VERY REAL AND IT IS A PART OF LIFE. WHAT MIGHT BEST BE LEARNED IS THAT YOU MUST NEVER TAKE THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE FOR GRANTED BECAUSE WE JUST NEVER KNOW WHAT TOMORROW HOLDS. SO MOSTLY I'VE LEARNED TO LIVE FOR TODAY.  NOT EASY, BUT IT TRULY IS THE ONLY WAY. MY LOVE AND HUGS TO YOU AND RAY AND MANY BLESSINGS. GAIL XXOO

*****Hi Gail,  It was so good to hear from you again.  Thank you for your kind words.  I am glad you and Rose came to be such good friends.  I sometimes get updates about Justin's Guestbook...It is nice to see that his memory stays alive through his friends and family.  Take care and God Bless, Marion

Hi. The poem 'Do not stand at my grave and weep' with the pretty pictures was so nice...the ending was so sad but it was all so well written. Yes, you do not know me, but I just wanted to say how much I liked it. *scurries off to bookmark it*

Dear Marion, Thank you so much for your kind words in my guestbook! We so enjoy living with nature and yes, it is true we can learn a lot from God's creatures of the earth. Hi Marion..thank you so much for your wonderful words that you wrote in my guestbook. It brought tears to my eyes..I loved your new humor page, on Ray's Nemesis. My Dad had the same fate about 10 years ago after visiting us...He and my my mother were on their way home and were going just a few miles over the speed limit. He too asked the officer what about the other people on the road who were going faster ..He got the same answer that Ray did:0)) I felt badly that their visit turned out to be so expensive. My father passed away on Dec. 21st, 2003 at the age of 95. In all of the years of his life I think he only got that one speeding ticket! Love Andrea

*****Your welcome, Andrea.  I meant every word of it.  You are a very talented lady.  I remember when your Dad passed away.  It is hard to believe that was already 2 years ago.  It must be a difficult time of the year.  However, I know you have many happy memories to look back on and they will help ease the pain.  It always makes me feel good when a piece I write, stirs up some memories in those who read it.  Take care...Love Marion

Marion...what a great article you wrote ...& how absolutely true too. I really agree with every word you wrote. It has almost gotten out of hand now, I feel. Even some of the commercials depicting males as such insipid little creatures who couldn't possibly think for themselves...or the latest one where the husband with the "obvious butt" and apron on, is taking a roast out of the oven while his wife comes home "very much in charge" from the office with flowers because she's late... C'mon!!! I gather this one is suppose to be funny....because they are talking "Tradition".. but it still rankles me. I have never ever been into "put down" humor? or poor taste jokes against color, race or creed...and sure not this latest barrage of male bashing ...thanks for a great article my friend. It won a prize in my books! You and I are most certainly on the very same wave length...in so many ways. I am forwarding a nice prayer of encouragement that I read the other day...thought it was pretty nice. Take care...stay warm. Marilyn

*****Hi Marilyn,    I am so glad you liked my article.  Thank you for your lovely comments. I was expecting a lot of negative feedback from the ladies, but the comments I received have all been very positive.  I think respect in a relationship is so important.  I listen to our girls sometimes and the way they react when I do something for Ray.  "Dad, can't you do that for yourself."  "Marion, you shouldn't run after him like that."  I wish they could understand that by doing nice things for your partner, you get it returned double...  After all, isn't that the "Golden Rule"...do onto others.  I've pretty well stopped watching TV, because I just don't like what is offered.  Violence, blood and gore, reality(???????) shows, and humor at the expense of others...sorry, not interested!  Like you said, even the commercials are degrading men.  Thank you for that prayer of encouragement.  I so identify with that, because that is how I try to live my life.  I never did believe in this "keeping up with the Joneses."  As long as I have a roof over my head, food on my table, my loving family and, above all, this great man who loves me just the way I am, I am the richest woman in the world.  Everything else, like great neighbors, is a wonderful bonus.   Have a great day.  It is definitely a "bundle up" day today.  BBBBBBRRRRRRRRR   Marion

Hi Marion, 'Male Bashing' is definitely not my thing. I have been with my soul mate for 44 years, and he has been by my side through many difficult times, including two bouts of cancer, that's a soul mate, who would want to bash someone like that. Excellent article Marion, God Bless, lena

Hi Marion, I sure enjoyed your new column on Male Bashing...There are too many sitcoms on TV that portray men as slovenly and lazy and I don't think it is funny when it is repeated over and over. To me this is sick humor and doesn't serve any purpose. What ever happened to praise and admiration and in looking for the good in humans whether they be female or male? Have a great Christmas and New Year...Love, Andrea

*****Thank you Andrea.  I have given up watching TV.  Until they bring back shows like Dick van Dyke, or  the Cosby Show, I think I will abstain.  Have a wonderful Christmas, and best wishes for the New Year.  Love Marion

Hi Marion, had started answering your reply and said I better hurry that we may lose electric...because we were getting a feeder band (rain band) high winds from Dennis and he isn't even up here yet still down south of us but we are getting heavy rain bands, high winds and we are under tornado, flood watch until 8:00 tomorrow night. I got as far as the electric may go out. And...PROOF! our electric went out and just came back on but we are about ready to get another feeder band. But Dennis is suppose to make a direct hit on panhandle of FL. or Alabama. Suppose to go back us, we will just get feeder bands and possible tornado's, high winds at times. I feel so bad for all those people in Pensacola, they got Ivan last year and most are not repaired from him. So very bad and sad! I like to go help when these storms comes in and people lose all they have. Thanks for your most kind words. No dear, I am "NOT" special at all. Just blessed! I thank God he gave me the "gift" to want and be able to take care of the sweet elderly and sick. My husband says to me all the time, that I am a angel, because I have the patience to take care and deal with these sweet people but I tell him no I am not, I am far from being and angel1 I am just so very blessed to be able to help the helpless and I LOVE...every minute of it. You are so very right, no matter what shape these sweet people are in, they deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, caring, kindness and love. I even get upset with the heath care workers when they call the depends diapers, because the elderly or younger people in the nursing homes, when they know, they don't like to wear the depends and they get upset when they say diapers. I tell the girls all the time that bothers them when you say diapers to them. They are embarrassed to wear them and the health care girls...will say it out loud. I think that is one way of showing them some dignity by saying depends and respect. They don't want to be treated like a kid or have to wear those and some have too. I watch their sweet and kind little faces when they have to have a depend on and it bothers them. I have never said diapers to any of them. I have always said depends, if I have to say anything when I change them. Even when I am working, (which I am not as of now) I still run by and visit with all of them. I miss them if I am out of town or don't see my sweet elderly friends for awhile and they just smile and will say, "where have you been? We missed you." That just makes my day. So sad for them...most of them before coming to nursing home, was very smart well educated and had good jobs. The ones that remember can tell me about their jobs and families and I love to set and listen to them and they are so very wise. They just love to talk about family, friends and their life when they had their homes. I get sad and cry sometimes when I leave thinking most of them...either have family that never visit them or don't have any family to come visit. Everyone kids my husband, they tell him one day...he will come home and I will have rockers everywhere and will have all the elderly people I can get from the nursing homes at our house, he just grins. I would love that. That would be so great to be able to bring them home with me and take care of all of them. At Christmas, that is where I always go, I always love to see Christmas come... so I can take them a card each year, wish I could buy them all a little something but I visit so very many can't afford it. But I do fill out hundreds of Christmas Cards (my hubby always says, I am going to get writers cramps). I fix me a big basket with a big red ribbons on each end and put cards/candy canes in it and I give each one a sugar free candy cane. Most of them are diabetic. Not much to give them but they seem to love it each year. They are all so very special to me and that is what I write on frt. of each of their cards. Because they are so special to me! I know most of them by them by their names in most all the nursing homes. The ones that are still living. I have been going so many years to visit. I get to know all the new ones also. I better hush...about my special people, I get carried away about all them! I could talk all night, morning about them. Sure does humble your heart when you see the shape some of them are in. Just maybe one day I can do more for them, I hope so anyway. We live right out of Jacksonville, Fl. Have to go electric is blinking again, feeder bands keep coming through. I just pray for the people that are...most likely going to lose everything they have.  But material things aren't anything as long as they don't lose their lives or get injured. Thanks for listening. Hope your sweet Mom is doing ok. Please let me know, ok? You are more then welcome to write me on my personal email address. I write so much and take up so much room in your guest book! Take Care! Hi Marion, you are so welcome! Mom's are "VERY" special. I have been visiting in nursing homes and I have seen workers being mean to Alzheimer's patients and I get fighting mad. I walk right in the room and tell them a mouth full! I tell them just because they have the disease they are still human. Some workers have told me...Alzheimer's patients, don't know what they are doing, I say you are right, why are you being mean to them? Workers tell me they don't even like the elderly. My reply is...why are you here? Answer is...just for pay check, say they have to work. I tell them to go out and scrub floors or something and leave these sweet human beings along. They are helpless. I will fight over a elderly person or sick helpless person. I have worked and sat with Alzheimer's, elderly and sick people for years and I have about had my thumb bit off and been cursed by Alzheimer's but I have "NEVER" raised my voice to one of them because...I know they do "NOT" know what they are saying or doing. Five minutes later they are hugging you and saying they love you. You have to know how to deal with them. They get very scared of most everything but if you know how to deal with them, they are fine. They are helpless and like kids. They cannot help their disease! Burns me up when people are mean to any elderly or sick person. I am not saying it doesn't get stressful and you need a break, you do! They are such sweet people. They just need help, kindness, caring and love. I love all of them and would do anything for them! Wish I could do more for them! I lost my Mom when she was only 51 years old and I miss her everyday! Thanks for the kind words about us not getting Dennis. Think maybe we may dodge the bullet this time, he seems to be moving more to the west of us each update. I feel for the people who will be getting him. Florida Keys are getting outer bands of him as I write. We still have a long way to go with hurricane season. Just got 11:00 update on Dennis 110 mph strong cat. 2 but it is over land said it could strengthen when getting into gulf. Said it would impact us with heavy rains, strong rip currents, possible floods when it comes back us. But is not like a direct hit thank God! I did it again...long comments, SORRY! Take Care. Have a great weekend! Live...Love...Laugh... Brenda

*****Hi Brenda, you must be a very special person.  To devote so much time to those who really need it takes someone very special indeed.  You are right...too many people in the health care system that work with the elderly (and especially those with dementia) do not have the patience and should not be there.  Everyone, even those who cannot speak for themselves, is entitled to be treated with dignity and respect.  God bless you for being such a caring person.  Have a nice Sunday.  (Where in Florida are you?  Did Dennis miss you?) Hi Marion..oh my dear made me so very sad to hear your sweet Mama has Alzheimer's. My dear for years I have worked and visited the elderly and I thank God that he gave me the "special gift" to do this type work.  Allot of people ask me how I take care of Alzheimer's patients? I dearly "LOVE" Alzheimer's patients! I may have the same disease one day we never know! I have taken care of so many of these sweet people. They are so very "precious" to me. Marion dear, I know it breaks your heart to see your sweet Mom have this disease but way down deep inside her she is still the same Mom, she just can't tell you. Aren't they so very "SPECIAL"? Ooooh no...Hurricane Dennis is a cat 4 now, a "big boy" heading toward USA. Have to button down the hatches and be ready. Poor Pensacola, Fl. think it might take a direct hit. They got Ivan last year and are not repaired from him. We just have to trust it won't be as bad. I try to think things can always be allot worse! Take Care, Marion. LIVE...LOVE...LAUGH... Brenda

*****Hi Brenda.  Thank you for your kind words about my Mom.  It isn't easy to deal with, but we are learning.  Hope you don't have to deal with "Dennis"...Don't think I would like to live in an area where there are so many hurricanes.  Take care and have a nice day...Marion

Good Morning Marion, God Bless and watch over London. My prayers and thought are with all the people in London who have lost loved ones or have injured loved ones. So SAD people want to kill and kill and hurt innocent people! Sure brings back 911 here in USA. Not that we "EVER" forget but this just opens the wounds. God be with the families that lost loved ones and the injured. Take Care and have a great day. Live...Love...Laugh... Brenda from Florida...

*****Dear Brenda, our thoughts and prayers are also with those affected by this hideous act of terrorism.  Have a wonderful day and stay safe.   Marion

Hi Marion, Thank you dear, sweet, kind, Marion, for answering all my comments. I wrote so many, no wonder you couldn't keep up with me but I enjoyed writing to you and thanks for the kind comments!:)  Good friends are hard to come by these days. I still talk to people even if they don't want to be my friend. I am a people person and love people!:) I think you are a great friend to many people! I do look so forward to yours and Ray's sites each day. Cheers me up each day. So glad you are going to put some more pages on. You all have had allot of rain. I love working in the garden. Gosh, girl you and Ray sure do stay soooo very busy. I like staying busy. I am very hyper and have to be moving allot. I don't like having idle hands, feet or body! I wash clothes at one and two in the morning. How are your baby pets doing? I take my little Haley Anne to nursing home to visit. Pet therapy is so good for the elderly. I visit all the nursing homes I can get around to and take them book, etc. They love the visits and I dearly love to visit those sweet people! They get so lonely and depressed. I take one nursing home a day and stay all day go in every room and talk at least 5 to 10 minutes to each sweet little person. Some of the nursing homes have 180 people in them. Been meaning to tell you, love your Mom's sweaters. They are beautiful! Does she sell them? And could she make one with dogs and cats on it? I would love that.:) Take Care. I did it again. I just love visiting with you!:)) A long one.:) You and Ray can do the Hula!:) He did an outstanding job on the new song! Live...Love...Laugh... Brenda-Down here in Florida, we are awaiting Hurricane Dennis. He is a very "BIG" hurricane. We are suppose to have a worse season this year. We had a bad one last year. We were under a hurricane watch or warning for 37 straight days last year, didn't get a direct hit from either 4 hurricanes but had allot of damage and flooding. We have to button down the hatch and hang in there!:) Sneak a little prayer in for all in the path of hurricane Dennis and Thanks! Going to have to glue my hands so I can't type so much!:))

*****Brenda my dear, you may be hyper, but if you use all your extra energy to visit with the elderly and bring cheer into their lives, then you are putting that energy to good use.  I commend you!!!  I am sure a lot of people look forward to your visit with Haley Anne.  I am glad you had a look at my Mom's pages.  She used to sell a lot of her sweaters.  She had many repeat customers.  Unfortunately she now has Alzheimer's.  She was diagnosed just over a year ago, but she has forgotten how to knit.  I am so happy that we made the pages for her a few years ago, because we want to share with everyone my Mom's brilliant talent.  I really hope this hurricane season is not as bad as last years'.  We have a lot of friends in Florida and pray for a save summer for all of you.  God Bless.   Marion

Hi Marion, Thanks for your comments about our sweet little Dutchess. Allot of days she is worse then others. Our Vet wants to do surgery on her and then chemo but we said..NO.. she is to old (11 yrs.) to put her through surgery and chemo. Also, chemo want take cancer away cancer is malignant. No cure. We couldn't believe our vet would even suggest surgery and chemo knowing it want help her, just make her feel worse. We just hope, as you said we have a few more good years with Dutchie Girl, she is a sweetie. Ohhhh, I think...would have been so cute to have "Duke" and "Duchess"!:) Duke is so handsome and looks like such a sweetheart. We are like you and Ray. Our daughter is grown (just turned 30 in March) and has her own life. Works with kids with autism, she loves those kids and I am so happy she works with them. She has her masters degree in psychology, working on doctrine. She just got a promotion to State Director of S.C. foster care. She has to travel a lot, so we don't get to see her very much at all. She doesn't want any kids, usually a "only child" does want kids. I could only have one child and we feel very blessed with her. We have granddogs!:) She has two German Shepherds. They are such sweeties. Grindle is Dutchess sister. And...Sir Kaiser, is her little man! So our animals are our kids and grands also. I talk to them, sing to them (of course I can't sing myself out of a barrel) I think... I might scare them sometimes.:) Poor babies, to have to listen to a voice like mine...I would howl also.:) I would love to have a kennel and take in all the stray animals and care for them. Some people are so mean to animals, don't know how anyone could mistreat a animals, they are helpless! Live...Love...Laugh... Brenda

*****Hi Brenda...My goodness girl, I can't keep up with you!  :-)))  Sorry it took me a while to answer these.  It has been so beautiful the last few days, I have been spending a lot of time tending my garden.  Lots of weeds after two weeks of rain.  Sometimes when a person works with kids, especially those with special needs, it seems to be fulfilling enough.  I am sorry you won't have grandbabies but like you  said...you have granddogs!  And I am sure the doggies all LOVE your singing.  Bye for now...Marion

Hi Marion, Thanks! I am so glad you like my motto. So great it describes your and Ray's relationship. I feel, it is so very important for us to... Live...Love... Laugh... You sound so very happy with Ray! So great to hear!:) Wish you and Ray many "HAPPY YEARS" together! He seems like such a kind, caring, loving, giving, man. You are so right. I do believe you are a very blessed woman to have found a man like him! Don't find many that are like Ray this day and time! Seems to me he has found a very charming, caring, loving, kind, giving woman also!:) Seems you both share each others love, caring, kindness, giving, but you both also share this with many others so very much. Example...I know from looking at Ray's site. You both work very hard at your jobs, take in animals, find homes for them, and much more. Then give your time to all of us by sharing so much love, kindness, caring, giving. Through your websites, for thousands of people all around the world. Allot of stress and hurting people in our world these days and I know in my heart, the sites you all share has brightened many lives and put a smile on many faces! I know this for sure, has put a smile on mine more times then one, two or three times, many, many times!:) Your sites are so awesome! Have so much to choose from and look at and share with family and friends.:) "MANY THANKS"...to you and Ray for sharing! I do so very much appreciate all your and Ray's hard work and for writing back. I look so very forward each day getting on my computer and checking to see your replies.:) Take Care. God Bless! Live...Love...Laugh... Brenda

*****Brenda, it is people like yourself and other internet friends that give us the joy and satisfaction in knowing that we make someone's day a little brighter from time to time.  That is what it is all about.  Too much grieve and pain in this world already...we all need a little comforting hug once in a while and I am happy some of you come to our pages to find that comfort.  Take care...Marion

Hi Marion, I just read your "Back Seat Driver". I love it. I laughed and laughed because...I am "guilty" for sure of being a back seat driver...front too and I love the "Don't Drive the Driver"...never heard that one before. Love it!! I wear out the floor in the passengers seat also... putting on my brakes...all the time and I say...to my husband all the time... their is a light up ahead and I punch him and say...light is "red" and put my brake on in floor board. He never says a word...just grins at me and says...I have my foot on the brake. Then I say...might have your foot on brake but you aren't pushing on brake...another grin. Then he says to me...I have everything under control. But really...I am the one that has everything under control...HA! Also read the one about the cellar...really enjoyed that story! Also always... go to Pet Page...I love the little sayings...you have posted under each picture. Our little sweet Dutchess (German Shepherd) we just found out yesterday she has cancer...she is 11 years old and such a sweetie. Breaks my heart in two...to think we may lose her...she is still in good spirits and still so loving. Thanks for sharing! Live...Love...Laugh... Brenda

*****Hi Brenda...I am so glad I could make you laugh.  That makes my day.  I think we all have a bit of a back seat driver in us.  I am so sorry about Dutchess.  Hopefully she will have a few more good years.  It wouldn't be easy to part with her.  I wanted to name our Lady 'Duchess' too so we would have a Duke and a Duchess...but Ray thought that was too corny. :-))).  Thank you for your lovely comments about my stories.  Happy
4th of July...   Marion

Hi Marion..The continuing Saga of your computer was so interesting. Who would think a brand new computer would present so much problem after only 5 days? I am glad now everything seems to be working okay with the new replacement. I am waiting for something dire to happen to my old computer. Hello Marion..I loved your "End of Friendship" saga of your computer. It sounds so much like mine. What really irks me the most is when I am in the middle of doing something and it glitches up losing it all. I've had to reboot also. I remember how fast it seemed when it was new but how slow it is now. It is even making strange grinding noises when I turn it on and I am not sure if it is moans of protest or if it is just wearing out..Have a wonderful week....Andrea

Hi Marion..really enjoyed Complementary Characters. I think it is neat when a couple aren't so much alike that they are carbon copies. Yet you share enough interests that you have a common bond. Best of all you both share a sense of humor. Many blessings to you and Ray.

*****Hi Andrea...They say variety is the spice of life, right.  And I like it spicy.  It would be so boring if a couple had too much in common.  And thanks for sharing your wonder photography and poetry with us.  I enjoy it very much.  Have a great day.   Hugs...Marion

If The "little black Train" is for sale I would like to purchase it or any other like programs you have . Check out my website. I need material for it. Since I am new at this, any help will be appreciated Thanks Louie Miller

*****Thanks for visiting Louie.  I am not sure what you mean by "little black train".  I have nothing like that on my pages.  Are you maybe talking about " Long Black Train"?  That is on my boyfriends' site.  I had a look at your page.  Looks like you have a good start.  Keep it up.  It takes patience, but you'll learn.  Good Luck.   Marion

Hi..I just came by..I searched for you after my brother told me about someone in Calgary who came with the Maasdam.  I see he left a message also.

*****Hi there, thanks for stopping by.  I was very surprised to hear from a fellow "Maasdam" traveler.  It really is a small world, isn't it?  Couldn't help noticing the Saskia in your e-mail address.  That is my sister's name.  Thanks for signing my guestbook.  Have a great weekend!    Marion

I travelled on the SS Maasdam in July of 1967 that's how I found your site. I moved back to Holland and now live in Alkmaar. My dad and Sister still live in Spruce Grove Alberta. I was wondering if you had more pictures on hand of your trip. We travelled from Montreal to Edmonton by CN rail, as my Dad was scared to fly. I was 8 years old and remember everything

*****Hi there,    Thank you for visiting our website.  I was very surprised to read your entry.  We came on the SS Maasdam in April of 1967.  My parents came here with 5 kids.  I was the oldest and 13 at the time.  We all still live here in Calgary.
Unfortunately that picture of us in the dining room was the only photo we had of our trip.  And my main memory of the boat trip is that I was sick as a dog.  Like you we also traveled by train to Edmonton and then from there on to Calgary.
Another strange coincidence--Alkmaar is the last city we lived before we came to Canada.  We lived on Aagje Dekenstraat for two years.
I am curious how you found my site.  What search engine did you use?  Thanks for writing.  Sorry I can't help you with photos.  Take care.  Marion

I grew up loving Elvis, as long as you sing his voice will live on. I write a weekly news column for the paper here in Dumas, Texas called; "A Slice of Life", and send inspirational e-mails to over half the states of the U.S. and some foreign countries. I have sent a link to your site to my list. I have not had a chance to read and hear everything, but all so far is just beautiful. God bless and thanks for sharing your wonderful talent!

Hi Babes... Just stopped bye to see how things are "going"... smile! Looks like you have everything under "Control", as usual! No Surprise there. Since you're so BUSY packing Boxes for the BIG "move" ... and very hard to "corner", I thought THIS may be a "darn good way" to COMMUNICATE ... hahaha!!! :-) I'll go and see if I can "find" you among all those Boxes and STUFF ... smile...Lots a HUGGGS ... and Love, Ray ... (--_--)

*****Hi Sweetie, Thanks for stopping by.  I haven't spend much time here with all the packing to be done.  When I get overwhelmed by the stacks of boxes...(I don't know which are worse-the empty ones or the filled ones) I have a look at the page Kat made for us when we last moved.  It always makes me chuckle and then I am good to go again.  Hope I don't end up in one of those boxes.  You may never find me again!!!  Hugggs  Love Marion

Hi Marion. I enjoyed your page on Roommates. The grey mouse would have been my greatest fear.. I think my mouse panic stemmed from an Aunt who jumped on a chair and screamed bloody murder when she saw one scurry past her. Being a small impressionable child at the time, the sight of my Aunt, a large sized lady standing on a rickety chair completely panic stricken left a lasting memory. I have wondered since what the poor mouse thought. Keep the humor rolling. We all need to laugh more.

*****Hi Andrea, just scrolled through my guestbook and notice I never answered your entry.  How rude!!  Thank you so much for sharing your anecdote about your aunt and the mouse.  I don't mind mice.  Ray absolutely hates them!!!  Thanks for visiting.   Hugs...Marion

Hi Marion, I just read the story about your 'little room-mates'. I am not much of a traveler, reason being<<<<>>> just what you related about your back-packing trip in Asia. But, I remember in the 60's visiting John's parents who lived in Florida. We were sitting around one evening and John's Mom jumped up and said, "oh, I have to get that bug". She had a wooden paddle next to her that she grabbed. I asked her about the use of a wooden paddle to kill a tiny bug. When I saw the "bug", I almost passed out. It was just as long as you described (3 to 4 inches long). Wow! I never saw anything like it. She said they call them Palmetto bugs in Florida. Well, talk about sleeping with those things in the house!!!!!! I didn't sleep most of the nights we were there. We were very lucky that we could stand on the bed and reach the bathroom light<><> lucky because these 'monsters' would scurry about hither and yon, when the light came on. I would make John clear my path before I would enter the bathroom. On our honeymoon, in Florida, there were thousands upon thousands land crabs walking all over the place. You could hardly put one foot down when the other one would surely land on a land crab. The year was 1951. We were told that they were making their way from the bay to the ocean. They did this every night. When you were in the car, you could hear them squish under the tires. Many years later, I read and article in National Geographic about their nightly treks back and forth. Very interesting. Well, thanks for bringing back so many memories of not-so wonderful incidents regarding travel to remote places. And, in 1951, Florida was still a remote area, as far as we were concerned. Hugs, Rose/TTT

*****Hi Rose, I am usually not squeamish about creepy crawlies, but the thought of those cockroaches still makes the hair in my neck stand on end.  In Australia we watched something similar with crabs.  They were pretty neat to watch.  But there weren't  such great numbers of them.  Take care.  Love Marion

Dear Marion. I so enjoyed your Age of Innocence. It's hard to imagine the male clerk that waited on you could be so dense:0)) It must have been an age of innocence for him as well. Keep up the great work. Those are the kind of stories that are so real to be not ever forgotten..

*****Hi Andrea,   I am glad you enjoyed my story.  In the clerks' defense, I think he was also very young.  I  drive by that store occasionally and the memory is still very vivid.  At least now I can chuckle about it!!  Thanks for visiting.  Love Marion

HI MARION, I HATE THIS BEING CONFESSION DAY, BUT I AM LIKE ROSE. I NEVER BOUGHT ANY UNMENTIONABLES EVER IN MY LIFE EITHER. GEE, I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY "SILLY ONE" IN THIS WORLD!!! LOL THANK GOD FOR MOTHERS AND THEN SO GRATEFUL FOR HUSBANDS THAT TRY TO MAKE YOU MORE COMFORTABLE. WELL, AT LEAST I DIDN'T HAVE TO BUY THE UNMENTIONABLES, BUT IF AND WHEN I WAS IN A STORE WITH MY HUSBAND HE WOULD MAKE IT A POINT TO COME TO ME AND TALK VERY LOUDLY AND ASK, "IS THIS YOUR SIZE"?) COULD HAVE FAINTED DEAD AWAY!!!.

*****Hi Beverly,  I never had a problem buying  "unmentionables" as long as I could just grab them of the shelf.  I still don't like asking anyone.  You were lucky (I think) to have such an understanding husband, although I don't think I would be coming into the store with him.  I'd be like Rose and wait outside!  Glad you enjoyed it.  Love Marion

Hi Marion, If I can stop laughing long enough, I will tell you about me and my experience with "the unmentionable napkins". I am 22 years older than you sweet Marion. And, in my day, well I won't go back to when I was 11. Anyway, I never bought a box in my life, No, never and I mean absolutely never. It was mortifying to even think of approaching someone for "THOSE"! My Mom always bought them for me. Then, when I married, my husband went in, while I waited outside, to buy them. He told me I am buying the biggest box, I don't want to do that too often, myself. I just roared and yet felt so sorry for you when I read how you grabbed your crotch. I am still laughing as I am typing this. Life in another strange speaking country must be the 'pits'. I am sending this page to all my gal pals out there. They will enjoy reading this as much as I have. Keep those coming, Marion. hugs, TTT

*****Hi Rose, I am glad you could identify with my story.  I still blush when I think about it.  Maybe I was to subtle.  If I had grabbed my crotch I might have had better results!! :-)  Thank you for sending it out.  Love Marion

*****Hi Beverly, so glad you came to visit.  I guess a lot of people weren't too pleased with the results of their surgeries.   I have been pretty lucky so far.  But I've heard some horror stories.  I would like to hear your story.  In the future I would like to do a follow-up article about other people's experiences with cosmetic surgery--both the good and the bad.  Thanks for visiting and please share your story with me.  Marion
